Middle Kids

Get ready for an unforgettable night with Middle Kids!

Middle Kids’ signature blend of indie rock with alt-pop icing has built them a loyal fanbase in Australia as well as abroad. They have toured with the likes of Bloc Party, Kings of Leon and War on Drugs and we’re super excited to welcome them to Twilight at Taronga.

The Sydney trio first grabbed international attention in 2017 with their debut single “Edge of Town”— a track that even caught the ear of Sir Elton John who instantly declared himself a mega fan.  Since then, Middle Kids have gone from strength to strength, winning ARIA and J Awards, and new fans left, right and centre!

Fronted by the radiant vocals of Hannah Joy, the band delivers magnetic live performances, packed with soaring guitars from Tim Fitz and driving percussion from Harry Day: all in all, a perfect blend of singalong sunburst hooks, and sublime yet grounded heart-felt indie rock.

In 2024, Middle Kids dropped their highly anticipated third album, Faith Crisis Pt 1. An LP with equal parts yearning and angst, matched with heavenly pop brightness it features the killer singles “Dramamine” and “Bootleg Firecracker.”  Expect these fresh tracks alongside fan-favourites in a show that will lift you higher and leave you buzzing!

Supported by EGOISM

EGOISM

Opening for Middle Kids are EGOISM, a three piece independent guitar band from Sydney’s inner west.

EGOISM share lead vocals between the two songwriters Scout Eastment (she/her) and Olive Rush(they/them), with Adam Holmes (he/him) on the drums.

Self-described as “emo hiding behind the facade of jangly guitars”, EGOISM combine their honest lyrics, singable melodies and trademark shoegaze influence telling stories of the grief and hope that comes with being a young adult.
